DOE Buildings Performance Database

Energy benchmarking has gained significant attention in the United States in recent year, spurred by interest in meeting the goals of the Architecture 2030 Challenge, AIA 2030 Commitment, federal mandates for energy reductions, green building rating programs like LEED for Existing Buildings (EBOM), and mandatory energy disclosure laws in cities like Washington DC.

Like the impetus behind recool, other organizations are committed to aggregating complex data in an easy-to-use manner, to allow for better decision making during the full life-cycle of a building design, construction, and operations process.

The DOE Buildings Performance Database represents a significant contribution to the benchmarking space.
